Airtribe, a company committed to reshaping tech education through community driven learning. It was created to offer advanced courses for career growth. From its start, the company has adapted to the changing tech scene, earning a reputation for its engaging learning methods. With a focus on excellence, Airtribe.live provides various courses to help people succeed in their professional paths.

Introduction

In the realm of tech education, Airtribe wanted to position itself as a provider of courses for career upskilling. This case study delves into the strategic methods, creative overhauls, and impact of the design of Airtribe. I breakdown how I navigated challenges and improvised methodologies within a tight deadline and brought together the impact of the revamp which resulted in a long lasting visual direction scaling throughout the companies marketing as well as product.

The Team

In our dynamic team, I played a key role as the lead product designer, steering the revamp process and establishing the foundation for change. Working alongside me, Bonnie Smith contributed significantly, taking charge of typography and logo design. Additionally, Sudarshan, our talented graphic design intern, made valuable contributions to logo explorations and brand presentations. Together, we seamlessly collaborated, with my focus on processes like Stakeholder Questionnaire, Keyword Mapping, and Taking Feedback, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the brand revamp

To make a brand better, I started with initiating a comprehensive stakeholder questionnaire and conducting thorough primary research on the brand. Understanding stakeholder perspectives lay the foundation ensuring the brand aligns with both internal visions and external market expectations.

I thoroughly analyzed competitors like GrowthSchool, Maven, and Next Leap to understand their visual design strategies. This examination informed Airtribe's brand revamp, ensuring a distinctive and competitive edge in the tech education market.

Airtribe's revamped brand, with the solid foundation of color and typography, has created significant growth across marketing and product avenues. Hosting diverse courses, the branding has successfully scaled its impact. Looking forward, The color palette could increase to include more colours to facilitate better growth marketing while maintaining the branding. Future design strategies will include the integration of verbal branding guidelines. Overall the brand was very well accepted and appreciated by all the user groups of Airtribe.

Among the many explorations Sabarish came up with aided with the keywords we came up with from the Stakeholder and User Questionnaire and Analysis. This process began parallelly with the Color and Type explorations. We worked together on selecting the chosen few among this array for voting from the entire team. The following two we the major contenders.

Why this logo?

The logo design chosen incorporated all the following keywords along with giving a visually vibrant look

The logo scaled through out the marketing, landing pages and product well. It was friendly as well premiums look which is what the stakeholders wanted from the logo of the company

Violet and Skin

Choosing violet for innovation, creativity, and skin tones for a human touch, We crafted a unique, visually appealing palette. This decision, fueled by a desire to stand out from green-dominated competitors and strategically aligns with the tech niche.

Greeen and Grey

Despite green symbolizing growth and harmony in alignment with Airtribe's mission, it was discarded due to a lack of representation for the tech courses. Additionally, the prevalence of green among competitors prompted a shift to a more distinctive color palette

Sora as a header was too boxy and noisy for the clean interface that Airtribe wanted

While serif looked sophisticated we found it both created noise and looked too intimidating at times.
